An unusual one this, in a modern block of flats; massive high ceilings, loads of space – which I definitely like. Nice looking food menu although only had fries; only mark against it is the pint prices are pretty rough.

Huge airy cafe in an otherwise largely residential street – big points for space. Food delicious too – French toast crumpet stack with cheese, chilli jam and bacon, lemon cheesecake pancakes both excellent. Only complaint really is the portions are just too much!

A really good small plate resto from the Salt Room team. Fantastic calamari, delicious burrata with fig jam…actually the thing that impressed me the most was the skillet fried potatoes, which came in said skillet with a delicious sauce and sheep’s cheese grated over the top; a dish easy to phone in done deliciously. It was all good. Only thing I could say against it was that the space is pretty small; was quite glad being at the counter where more room to breathe.

Classic big space, white tablecloth Chinese where you can have as many people as you like. Some of the best service ever, easily – friendly and helpful – and really enjoyed the food.

Gosh, what a revelation! Can’t recommend highly enough – easily the best tempura I’ve had, beautiful sushi made in front of you, with some great creative options; and lovely cocktails and sake. And at much cheaper prices than you’ll see anywhere for Japanese!

I like the regular Ivy well enough, but it’s classic style over substance. Ivy Asia asks: what if you took the same stylish idea, amped it up with an Asia theme, and extended it to the food presentation – and also the food was really, really good? It’s amazing. We had sushi rolls with dry ice pouring out of a bowl below, and an amazing “Samurai” chocolate dessert that was done up to look like a samurai’s face. Totally worth it.

As the name suggests, art deco inspired cafe in Kemp Town. Nice people, pleasant interior, and I quite enjoyed my pancakes with bacon, egg and chorizo crumb. Falls under the category of “perfectly fine but won’t seek it out again”.

Tiny little cafe with some nice outdoor seating, have been meaning to go into it for ages. All vegetarian menu with plant based options – I had a massive breakfast sandwich with hash browns, my companion had a Korean oyster mushroom pitta. All awesome, just make sure you’re hungry as they’re huge!

Had a Deliveroo of this and it was really great. Lemon rice, lamb curry, paneer, Masala chips (yum!) and nice pakora. Thumbs up!
