Tiny reviews of Brighton food and drink
Ordered pizza from these guys – a “boaro” meaty one with pork and wild boar salami, and a margherita with mushrooms and red chillis. Really tasty, although it’s a thin base if you don’t like that sort of thing.
Edit: Had another, BBQ Treat – excellent too.

Location 4a Montpelier Place
“American roadside-style cuisine”, with brunch and BBQ. Went for brunch, sampled pancakes (huge), one of their sandwiches (huge amount of fries) and a “blowout” fried chicken burger (also huge). All tip top, with a big seating area where you can see the sea. Highly ace.

As the name implies, this fish and chippery is right on the water by the Carousel. Classic, deliciously greasy fish and chips had here on a picnic table; nicely you can get beer too. Also, be amused at the quantity of signs informing you that if the seagulls take your food they won’t replace it.

Renowned waterfront resto. We went here for their second “Supper Club” of eight tasting courses, with everything from an oyster, scallop and lobster through lamb, rabbit and a big box of sweets. And bread with lava salt, which is apparently a thing. It was great – in their private dining area too with 12 people, so a social occasion. People we spoke to said their regular service also excellent.

All profits donated to charity, but apart from that is just a great little pub. Lots of comfy chairs, flavoured vodka shots (Werther’s particularly good) and tasty beef, chorizo and jalapeno pizza all enjoyed. Cosy!

Nice looking pub on the outside, bit of an old man pub on the inside. Only had beers so can’t speak to the food. Perfectly fine, just not particularly interesting, especially when there’s so many interesting pubs in Brighton!

Free delivery on tasty Thai takeaway, so a winner in a town where half of them charge £3. Had a green curry and some Thai snacks, salt and pepper squid particularly good.

Ordered in a lamb korma and a king prawn biryani from these guys. Loads of it, good, and really quite cheap.
Verdict: Ok
Location: 111 St George’s Road
One of those cafes with an enormous menu of burgers, sandwiches, everything under the sun for a dirty meal. Surprisingly nice inside (as opposed to the usual 60’s temporary classroom look) and cracking food – bacon and egg sandwich with real, nice bread and an immense portion of chips.
