Tiny reviews of Brighton food and drink
Another perfectly serviceable coronavirus takeaway; more or less what you’d expect from a place called what it is. I enjoyed it, but wouldn’t have it ahead of other options, although the chicken bites were pretty ok!

As the name implies, classic kebab takeaway that I had delivered. Some points off for lower quality chicken nuggets, but overall a winner as still hot when delivered plus had a cheese gozleme flatbread thing which was really great.

Perfectly serviceable burger/chicken takeaway outfit, but nothing more – average across the board, although it was hot!

Tried delivery from here during quarantine. They pitch their burgers as fancy and one day I’ll try one in the restaurant, but had takeaway chicken nuggets, chips and cheese bites and while the latter were great, the former were low quality product.

Tried this pan-Asian noodle focused place during quarantine, and while it had good spring rolls, the Pad Thai was just average; won’t be in rotation for us.

Classic pizza/chicken takeaway. Prompt, and the cheesy garlic bread was everything I hoped for (and the reason I made my order), but all the fired stuff was really pants. The chicken wings and nuggets tasted really weird like they were using really old oil or something.
Verdict: Don’t go
Location: 14 Lewes Road
Chinese takeaway; prompt, reasonably priced, and delicious. Particularly enjoyed the spicy chilli beef.
Verdict: Awesome

Only had Deliveroo of this; imaginative menu, quality ingredients, but ultimately the burgers were a bit dry and chewy. So a nice meal, but not hurrying back.

Dessert only place; haven’t been in but got Deliveroo, and a very sad sundae for the almost £8 they want it was too.
Edit: Now I’ve been in. While not as warm and nice inside as Sprinkles, the ice cream and the cookie dough in particular were amazing!
Verdict: Don’t go (takeaway), Awesome (dine in)
Location: 86 Western Road
A cool, independent fried chicken place should be right up my street, with a “Bossman” burger with chicken, hash browns and BBQ sauce, fried chicken pieces etc. Should be, but the very best I can say is “ok”, if I’m being generous, and given the price, won’t be going again.
Verdict: Don’t go
